Real Futures- Parent Pathways
Real Futures' Parent Pathways program is a free, voluntary service offering personalised coaching and financial support to eligible parents and carers of children up to 6 years old. The program is designed to help participants achieve personal, educational, and employment goals through tailored mentoring and access to various support services.
To participate in the Parent Pathways program, you must:
- Be a primary carer of a child under 6 years old.
- Not be engaged in paid employment.
- Reside in an area serviced by a Parent Pathways provider- the Clarence Valley LGA.
Additionally, you should meet one of the following conditions:
- Receive one of these payments: Parenting Payment; Carer Payment; Special Benefit
- If not receiving a Centrelink payment, you may still be eligible if you are: Under 22 years old; An early school leaver (without a Year 12 qualification); A First Nations parent or carer.

- Personalised Mentoring: Work with a dedicated mentor to develop a tailored goal plan focusing on your personal, study, or employment objectives.
- Career Guidance: Receive assistance in exploring career options and planning pathways to employment.
- Training Opportunities: Access training programs, such as short courses at local TAFE institutions, to enhance your skills and qualifications.
- Language and Literacy Programs: Improve your language and literacy skills through specialized programs.
- Childcare Support: Get help finding suitable childcare services and assistance with childcare costs.
- Referral Services: Connect with additional support services, including financial information services and family or domestic violence support.
The program is flexible and family-friendly, allowing you to participate in a way that suits your circumstances. You can choose to join, leave, take a break, and return at any time. In-person appointments are accommodating, with children welcome to attend.
