Clarence Valley Conservation in Action (CVCIA Landcare) folded on 30 June 2024, but their two distinct focus areas - Cane Toad Education & Control and Indian (Common) Myna Education & Control are now supported by Clarence Landcare.
CVCIA’s website still has relevant information, booklets, videos and provides a useful resource (www.cvcia.com.au).
Generally the Indian Myna control involves private landowners using a specially designed non-lethal cage trap to catch Myna birds on their property. Traps are loaned out at no charge to Clarence Valley residents.
Toad control is a manual task generally undertaken by individuals or a group of volunteers on private or public lands at night during the warmer months (October-May).
Please contact Clarence Landcare for information, support, kits, traps and advice to tackle these invasive pests.
