Northern Rivers Community Gateway is a Quality Innovation Performance (QIP ) accredited registered charity formed in 1976. We provide integrated, wrap around welfare and community capacity building services for disadvantaged people and communities, extending through the NSW Far North Coast, New England region, Mid North Coast and across the state. Our broad range of services include supports for:
Financial hardship - Financial support services for eligible people and families including the No Interest Loans Scheme, StepUp low interest loans, brokerage, case management, budget counselling and emergency relief, which includes EAPA energy accounts payment assistance, food pantry, and chemist, supermarket and fuel vouchers..
Children and families - A wide range of services all in one place for families, children and youth to access, such as parental supports, Parents Under Pressure programs, counselling and case management.
Domestic and family violence - Professional and specialist services to assist children, young people and adults affected by domestic and family violence.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander - Targeted services to address the needs of Aboriginal communities, such as stable housing, food provision, emotional support, family support and financial assistance. Our wrap around services and dedicated staff work with Aboriginal people and communities every day.
Homelessness - A range of support services for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of it.
Volunteering - Volunteer coordination and advocacy throughout the region. We match individuals with organisations who are looking for people to volunteer with them. Email volint@nrcg.org.au for more information.
Social enterprise Cart Cafe - A fully equipped mobile cafe that provides employment pathways for disadvantaged people and is available for hire at your next event. Email cartcafe@nrcg.org.au for more information
