North Coast Settlement Service is a Special Work of St Vincent de Paul Society NSW.
We aim to provide settlement support for eligible clients to promote economic and personal well-being, independence and community connectedness. These services can also facilitate pathways to learning English, education and employment readiness.
NCSS provides services to newly arrived migrants and refugees within Coffs Harbour, Lismore and all surrounding areas including the Clarence Valley.
Workers are based in Coffs Harbour and Lismore. An outreach service is provided to the Clarence Valley area through the Coffs Harbour office.
We aim to assist clients to identify and access appropriate services to enable them to manage any needs that effect their overall settlement including educating clients on their rights and responsibilities in Australia and understanding our systems. This is achieved through case work, advocacy, providing information, referrals and group-work services.
NCSS supports clients to become self-reliant, to participate in the broader community and to develop a shared purpose and sense of identity and belonging. NCSS is funded by Department of Social Services under the Settlement Service Program.
