CRANES Palliative Care Volunteer Support Service

CRANES Palliative Care Volunteer Support Service is one of the allied health services available to people in Palliative Care and their families, in the Clarence Valley.

CRANES will provide a caring volunteer who can assist families in many ways. They can sit and listen, provide emotional support, be with the patient while the caregiver takes a break, support the activities of daily living through social engagement, or assist with shopping errands. There is no cost to the family. Volunteers are chosen for their understanding of the issues that confront people with a life limiting illness. They undergo training, assessment and background checks. CRANES accepts referrals for Palliative Care Volunteer Support through the Community Nursing Service in the Clarence Valley.
